Superfoods the way to the new super you in Ibiza

There is no doubt about it…Superfoods really are super! So what is it that stops people from making Superfoods a regular part of their diet?

Superfood

At The Workout Club Ibiza, we have found that people are sometimes put off the idea of Superfoods because they think it is all about exotic food – such as Goji berries and Spirulina  that are difficult to find in their local grocery store, and even more difficult to prepare. We would like to talk to you in this blog about what we call “regular’ Superfoods, and to take a quick look at what exactly is meant by the term Superfoods.

Nutritional Powerhouses

Well, Superfoods are the multi-taskers of food. They are nutritional powerhouses that help prevent disease, reverse the effects of ageing, nourish the brain, bones, muscles, skin, hair, nails and all the major organs, as well as boosting the immune system. And as if this were not enough, they can help lower cholesterol, improve your eye-sight and help you to lose weight and stay slim.

Pretty impressive, right? And the best news of all is that your local grocery store’s produce department is overflowing with Superfoods…and you probably didn’t even know it!

Spirulina is a superfood

How to do it

Examples of Superfoods often overlooked are aloe vera, turnips, cauliflower, asparagus, avocado, kale, spinach and fennel. We recommend making yourself a protein and nutrient-packed smoothie out of any or all of the Superfoods you can get your hands on. Or maybe try substituting your mashed potatoes with turnip…or cauliflower. Top off your oatmeal, coffee or tea with cinnamon instead of sugar, and sprinkle walnuts, almonds or flaxseed onto your salad in place of mayonnaise. These simple, easily affordable ways to introduce Superfoods into your daily life will have an almost immediate and noticeable effect on your sense of well-being and overall health. Go on, give them a try. You can now order your Ibiza Superfoods …at The Workout Club Ibiza. We always say that with Superfoods you cannot lose!
